How to Set the Moon Phase

CAUTION

Set the time before setting the moon phase.
Do not set the moon phase while the hands are in the time range below.
- 9:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.
The moon phase will switch in this time range.
It may not be possible to adjust the moon phase in this state.

Check the current moon phase in the weather forecast column of a newspaper, etc.
Move the crown to the 0 click position to set the moon phase.
Press the button with a fine-tipped object until the moon is completely hidden.
- The moon phase advances by one each time you press the button.
- The new moon (moon phase 0) is when the moon is completely hidden.

Press the button to adjust the moon phase.
- The moon phase advances by one each time you press the button.
- Round off the fractions of the moon phase.
  (Example) If the moon phase is "14.7", press the button 15 times.

TIP

The moon phase is the number of days since the new moon (moon phase 0) up to noon on a given day.
The cycle from one new moon to the next takes approximately 29.5 days.
The moon phase indicator shows the approximate phase of the moon and does not represent the shape of the moon itself.
