Precautions Regarding Diver's Watches

Ensure that you read this if you are using a diver's watch (DIVER'S WATCH 200 m).

Use in Diving

WARNING

Never use when saturation diving using helium gas.

They can be used when diving with an air cylinder (scuba diving).

Never use when diving to a depth of 200 m or greater.

A diver's watch is primarily an auxiliary device that displays the passage of time.

When diving, ensure that you have the experience and skills necessary for safe diving, and that you have the requisite specialist equipment such as a dive computer.

Never operate the watch in a way other than as detailed in this manual.

Erroneous usage may result in accidents causing death or serious injury.

Before Diving

WARNING

Each time before diving, ensure that you check the following items to check the condition of the watch and confirm that it is operating normally.

If any abnormalities whatsoever are found, do not use the watch for diving.

  • The time is displayed correctly.
  • The mainspring is sufficiently wound.
  • The rotating bezel is set to the specified time. In addition, it should not rotate in reverse, be too loose, or be too tight.
  • Fully tighten the crown. If it has a screw lock, ensure that it is locked.
  • There are no cracks or damage to the glass surface, case, or strap.
  • The strap spring bar, clasp, and buckle are properly secured.

While Diving

CAUTION

Never operate the crown while underwater.

Increased water pressure means that the rotating bezel may be more difficult to rotate underwater. Ensure care.

Use the elapsed time shown on the rotating bezel as a form of reference only.

Do not bump the watch against rocks or other hard objects, or otherwise subject them to shocks.

After Diving

CAUTION

Wash off any adhered mud, sand, and seawater using fresh water. Do not clean the watch with chemicals, or immerse it in chemicals. After washing, fully wipe off moisture with a dry cloth.

Storing the watch while there is still seawater on it may cause the watch body to rust, or result in discoloration and deterioration of the strap.
